Remembering 200 Years of “Freedom”

Learning Labs: Enriching the Classroom Through History, Culture & the Arts

Our Learning Labs are designed to complement the University of the State of New York New York State K–12 Social Studies Framework while bringing history to life through STEAM-based learning, culture, creativity, and hands-on exploration.

As New York approaches 200 years of freedom since 1827, these labs offer schools an opportunity to deepen learning by remembering, honoring, and exploring the people, experiences, and communities that shaped New York.

Designed to enrich your existing programming—not replace it—each lab creates space for students to engage history through inquiry, arts, storytelling, and meaningful hands-on experiences.
